Things to do before registering for a ceremony
Undergraduates:
In March-April your CamSIS record will be updated to deem you ‘eligible to apply for a graduation’, from this point we will be able to register you on CamSIS. However, Undergraduate Graduation is subject to exam results and you will need to pass to be able to attend the Graduation. If you are unsure whether you are eligible, please contact the Graduation Team (graudation@st-edmunds.cam.ac.uk).
Postgraduates:
In March-April your CamSIS record will be updated to deem you ‘eligible to apply for a graduation’, from this point we will be able to register you on CamSIS. However, you will have needed to receive approval from your Degree Committee and confirmation that your programme is completed. If you are unsure whether you are eligible, please contact the Graduation Team (graudation@st-edmunds.cam.ac.uk).
All students should ensure that their external email address is marked as ‘preferred’ on CamSIS so that they do not miss any communications relating to their graduation.
Decide how you want to graduate
Graduands are able to chose to attend In-Person or In-Absence
In-Person involves a College Drinks Reception and Dress Rehearsal before walking down to Senate House on the day of your Graduation.
In-Absence means that your CamSIS record is updated so that your certificate and transcript can be processed and posted. If you attend a graduation In-Absence, you will not be able to attend In-Person at a later date.
Clearing College Debt
You are not allowed to graduate if you have outstanding College debt, this could be for things like accommodation leases, College/Alumni fees etc.
You will be contacted by the Graduation Team at the earliest opportunity if you have outstanding debt. If you would like to check if you have any outstanding debt, please contact the Finance Team (student.finance@st-edmunds.cam.ac.uk)
